Dorak Holding: A Digital Transformation Journey from Fragmented Structure to Corporate Group

The Challenge

Before 2014, Dorak Tour was a strong tourism brand, yet numerous companies with the same partnership structure operated under different identities.

Tour operators, incoming agencies, transport companies, retail outlets and other subsidiaries followed their own corporate structures, without a shared brand language across the group.

Each company used its own communications style, appeared under a different visual identity and presented a fragmented digital presence. This weakened brand perception and prevented the market from fully recognising the group's true strength.

Comprehensive discussions with the board members, general managers and corporate communications executives of the period established the need to position the companies under one roof and build a strong corporate structure.

Our Approach

At IDA Consulting, we did not treat the engagement merely as a design or technology project. We first analysed the group structure, assessing the relationships between companies, brand perception, target markets and communication strategies, anchored in our Branding & Corporate Development discipline.

As a result, the Dorak Tour-centred structure was rebuilt beneath the Dorak Holding umbrella with a stronger, more sustainable brand architecture.

We created the holding logo and brand architecture, redesigned subsidiary logos and developed corporate identity standards. Photography and visual archives were renewed, while catalogues, printed materials and exhibition stand designs were replanned.

Digital communication strategies were established. Within the first two years, 41 websites went live, 14 social media accounts were managed and Online Sales & Booking Systems were deployed across four different platforms.

These initiatives significantly improved not only the group's appearance, but also its digital operating capabilities.

An Industry First: Online Cruise Cabin Reservation

In 2016, as part of our Travel Technology Consulting practice, we delivered another highly innovative project for its time: one of the tourism industry's first online cabin reservation infrastructures for cruise ships.

Users could select a cabin online and complete their reservation directly through the system.

Integrations were also built with the era's popular campaign platforms, including Yakala.co, Markafoni and Grupanya. Cruise cabins could therefore be sold not only through corporate channels but through digital campaign platforms as well.

For its time, this represented a highly innovative distribution model.

Dorak Photo Gallery: An Innovative Digital Content Model

One of the project's most distinctive solutions was the Dorak Photo Gallery platform. At the time, photographs, catalogues and promotional materials were usually sent to overseas partners by CD, DVD and other physical media, creating delays and operational costs.

The Dorak Photo Gallery system developed by IDA Consulting moved the entire process online. Photo galleries, catalogues, brochures, promotional videos and corporate materials could all be managed from one central platform.

The system supported different user levels. Visitors could access low-resolution content, while secure partner accounts provided medium- and high-resolution materials to authorised users.

Dorak Holding's agencies and partners worldwide could thus access every current asset they needed from a single location. More than ten years later, the system remains in active use.

The Result

Across an approximately six-year partnership, the group companies were united beneath a common corporate identity, brand consistency was established and digital visibility increased significantly.

Online sales infrastructure was strengthened, content-management processes were digitised and numerous innovative tourism projects were brought to life.

The Dorak Holding transformation was more than a rebranding exercise: it was a comprehensive transformation story in which corporatisation, digital transformation and technology integration progressed together.
